Design concept begins from a careful analysis of landscape and turistic enjoyment.
Pistis is a place designed to a daily kind of turism, so there are not solutions to stay overnight and to find primary services.
Urban, landscape, rocky, beach and dune system are potential features of this area, which was, before designing, are totally separeted systems, without connections beetween each other.
This project aims to put into relation different system in order to create a unique one, paying attention on different turistic need, trying to preserving the physical and ideological nature of the place. METROscape is the intervention which operates through different systems, connecting them, in order to create sinergy between different levels (metro-landscape).
Transversal routes become connection between lines, longitudinal routes are considered as a flow which moves across a unique system and platforms become stops, as bridge passing through systems.
Complex turistic services equipment are located along the path, occupying, according to the kind of specific function, the most appropriate position into the area of Pistis metro, supporting an uniform use of the coast and preventing a punctual crowding.
The project use, formally, as guide lines shapes belonged to the nature of the area, taking as reference point, first of all, the direction of the main wind, orienting the intervention, then the shape of sea-lily, taken in the exagonal shapes of the platforms. The project follows main wind inclination.
Buildings become protective shielding, covering structures from strong blasts in the summertime. The routes show wind direction on the ground, helping to channel the sand , in order to create dunes by its moving.
Sea-lily is a white flower, which grow up spontaneously along coasts, it blooms beetween july and september, and it has a sublime and persistent smell.
This flowers represents a symbol of the vegetation along these coasts in the summertime.
The platforms are considered as project’s elements where people can have a rest and see the landscape, and the sea-lily represents a vegetation element into a space full of large areas of sand.
